About the Event

South Australia's economy is being shaped by growing investment in space, defence, and critical minerals.

The Committee for Adelaide, in partnership with Major Event Partner, BHP, and Supporting Partner, Australia Day Council of South Australia, invites you to explore how the space, defence and critical minerals sectors are strengthening advanced manufacturing, driving innovation and building the workforce needed for the future. Hear from industry leaders as they discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping South Australia's economy.

The event will feature a keynote address from Katherine Bennell-Pegg, Australia's first astronaut trained under the Australian Space Agency and the 2026 Australian of the Year. Drawing on her experience at the forefront of Australia's space sector, Katherine will share insights into leadership, innovation and the importance of developing the STEM capability needed to support Australia's future industries.

Katherine will be joined by a panel of leading experts from across the space, defence and resources sectors, who will share their perspectives on the opportunities and challenges shaping South Australia's future.
