The Committee for Adelaide will proudly host our signature International Women's Day Breakfast 2026, as we come together to 'Balance the Scales' - a powerful call to ensure that every woman and girl is safe, heard, and free to shape her own life.
A key message of the 2026 Breakfast is the critical role men play as allies in driving systemic change.
With this, we are thrilled to feature Tarang Chawla, award-winning writer, lawyer, and anti-violence advocate, as our keynote speaker.
Tarang is a powerful male ally whose lived experience and passionate advocacy make him a leading voice in advancing gender equity and preventing violence against women. Tarang, co-founded Not One More Niki in memory of his sister, Nikita, and has dedicated his life to calling out men’s violence against women. Tarang's perspective helps us interrogate how bystanders, institutions, and communities can transform from passive neutral observers into active agents of change.
Meaningful progress cannot be achieved if we continue to engage predominantly with women alone, we need men in these conversations. Allies like Tarang challenge entrenched norms, use their influence to advocate for change, and help build inclusive workplaces and communities.
Joining Tarang in conversation we are honoured to hear from:
• The Honourable Katrine Hilyard MP, Minister for Women, Minister for Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence
• Angela Priestley, Co-founder and Editor, The Women's Agenda
• Kimberley Wanganeen, Deputy Chair, Women's Safety Services & Owner of Kimberley Wanganeen Consultancy
